Wharton Store/Tavern bridge was dedicated to the memory of Dean Long
In October 2013 the bridge was dedicated to the memory of Dean Long. Members of the club and family members thought it was only fitting to rename this bridge in his honor and a sign was placed over the center of the bridge in his memory. Dean was a loving father and grandfather, Twp supervisor, a active member of the Southern Potter Snowmobile Club
, a respected member of the community, and put in many long hours (along with other club members) in the rebuilding of this bridge when it was redone in 2007. Dean was the type of person that just seemed to get along with anybody and have the right answers to problems that seem to arise. Dean (1937-2012) left us way to early in life and is greatly missed. The officers of the Southern Potter Snowmobile Club would like to thank the Long family and others for their generous donations to help defray the cost of this bridge.
